I love watching clients on market days. Let’s face it, any market can be overwhelming for most of us. Apart from the joys of a shopping experience, we’re bombarded with textures, smells, colours, and noise.

So, whenever I sit quietly in the background, it’s amazing to see how even the most serious person — this includes me — you know, the ones who avoid stalls out of fear of getting a sales pitch and end up buying out of guilt — can be pulled into my booth when they’re ready to experience the magic of crystals.

Yes, I call it magic. Because by definition, magic is something that’s out of this world. And for most of us — myself included when I began — I couldn’t mentally grasp how these stones could deliver on their promises. All I knew was... they did.

That moment of being pulled in.

You’ll see someone clearly just walking past, and then something makes them turn toward the booth — they gravitate toward the tables.

Some are subtle, but some are so obvious I can’t help but laugh silently. I love witnessing these moments.

Then comes “the shift”

This is when things begin to change for the client.

They lean in, almost zoning out — entranced by the beauty of the stones, but unsure why. If they’ve never used crystals before, I can see them getting overwhelmed by the choices.

It’s almost like their soul is responding to the vibrational frequencies — knowing, innately, how these crystals can help. This is often why many of us become “addicted” to crystals. There’s a deep knowing that healing is possible through them.

How I support in that moment

I help create a space for the client to come back to earth and feel grounded.

And then I ask:

Which one of these stones pulled you in?

Which one do you keep going back to?

That is the stone that is calling out to you.

When I hand them a description card, they often smile in awe or shake their heads in disbelief — because it resonates that deeply.

It feels magical.

What You Need to Know When Starting With Crystals?

1. Follow the pull

This is the most important thing to know. Don’t overthink it.Even if you think you’re drawn to a color, your birthstone, or just earrings —It goes deeper than that.

2. Most crystals need to be cleansed

Crystals are energetic beings — they absorb, store, and sometimes even transmute the energies they come into contact with. This includes your energy, the energy of anyone who’s handled them, and even the mood or environment they’ve been sitting in.

Think of your crystal like a sponge. It soaks up what’s around it. And just like you wouldn’t keep using a sponge full of old residue, your crystal needs regular cleansing to remain clear and effective.

When Should You Cleanse a Crystal?

  • Right after purchasing or receiving it

  • After someone else touches it

  • When it feels “off” or dull

  • If you’ve been using it in intense emotional work

  • Before setting a new intention

  • Or simply once a week/month as part of a regular ritual

Why Cleansing Is So Important

  • Clears residual energy

  • Resets the stone to its natural vibration

  • Strengthens your bond with the piece

  • Creates a fresh space to set intention or programming

It’s not about superstition — it’s about honoring the energetic relationship. Just like you shower after a long day, your crystal needs the same love.

3. Dedicate or program your piece (Optional, but powerful)

This is where you set an intention and form a bond with your crystal.

  • On an energetic level, you’re getting on the same page.

  • On a physics level, your intention has a frequency.

  • When that frequency matches the crystal’s, they resonate quicker.

It’s an act of deep respect — not just for the crystal, but for yourself. It’s saying:

“I am worthy of healing.”

And always close with gratitude (or let’s just call it appreciation). That appreciation gives you an edge on this journey.

4. Release your expectations

This is a big one. Expectations are one of the most dangerous emotional patterns we carry.

Crystals don’t always work like a “drug.” Yes, many can ease discomfort or pain, but not always in the way you expect.

Example: You choose rose quartz to work on self-love. You may not wake up feeling fuzzy and glowing. Instead, you might become more aware of:

  • Where you have no boundaries

  • Where you sacrifice your wellbeing

  • Where you’ve been neglecting yourself

Healing happens subtly, incrementally. You may wake up one day after wearing it for weeks and realize your world just feels… different.

Final Guidance

Bond with your stone in whatever way feels natural to you. Keep returning to your intention. Keep using or wearing it. Remember to cleanse/charge it. The magic will happen.

Important Notes

⚠️Sensitivity Warning:

Some crystals have very strong vibrational energy. If you feel physically uneasy or overwhelmed:

  • Ease in slowly

  • Wear it for a few minutes a day

  • Increase exposure gradually

In my experience, people with severe anxiety, Highly Sensitive People (HSPs), people with a history of PTSD or Nervous System Dysregulation, children or teenagers, individuals on the Neurodivergent Spectrum or low pain thresholds may be more sensitive.

🚑  Medical Disclaimer:

Never stop your prescribed medical treatment. Crystals are a complementary practice, not a replacement. Always consult your doctor first before stopping any medication.

💧 Hydration matters:

All healing — emotional, physical, mental — moves through the body. Water helps the body release and flush what it’s letting go of.

🧬 Working with Crystals for Chronic Conditions

If you’re working with a chronic condition — whether physical, emotional, or energetic — know that the journey may take time. Crystals are powerful allies, but they aren’t always fast-acting, especially when the root of the condition is layered, long-standing, or complex.

You may need to:

  • Work with the same piece for weeks or months

  • Be consistent and patient with your intentions

  • Adjust or rotate crystals as your needs shift

That said, chronic healing work can bring up deep layers — both physically and emotionally. And sometimes, it’s hard to navigate those shifts alone.

Consider working with a qualified energy practitioner, holistic therapist, or medical professional to support you through the process. Crystals are a beautiful tool — but true healing is multi-dimensional, and support matters.

There’s no shame in asking for help. There’s great wisdom in doing this work safely and sustainably. You don’t have to choose between intuitive healing and professional care — they can beautifully complement each other.

Doubt, Grace & the Power of Your Mind

Doubt is powerful. If you’re deeply convinced nothing will help, you might block the crystal’s energy. Energetically, you’re putting up a shield. But not all doubt is resistance. There’s a version of doubt I call grace.

Grace is when your soul still knows you deserve healing, even if your mind isn’t sure. It’s the quiet “yes” beneath the fear. That’s enough. That’s everything.

If there’s even a small willingness to get better, the frequencies can reach you.

Just keep building the bond. Keep reminding yourself why you’re doing this.

Understanding Secondary Gains

One of the most important things I explore in my practice is:

Why would I hold onto this pain?

We don’t do this consciously. But on a deeper level, we gain something from our ailments:

  • A migraine = rest

  • Addiction = escape

  • People-pleasing = validation

There is a duality in everything. The light and the shadow. Until we understand what we’re gaining, we often can’t move forward. You can’t know where you’re going if you don’t know where you’ve been.

Crystals Are Not Just Tools — They Are Teachers

They are spiritual allies, mirrors, guides. They help unearth:

  • Wounds

  • Trauma

  • Beliefs

  • Stories

  • Patterns

And if your journey goes anything like mine… Welcome. You’ve arrived.

My life has never been as rich as it is now. Even with the bumps, I see the world through a different lens — a clearer, kinder one.

If you ever feel like you’re in freefall and need support, please reach out. You are not meant to walk this path alone.
